In game screenshot - The demo is still very rough around the edges, and doesn't have certain elements yet, such as sound, however we're very happy with what we were able to accomplish in such a short period of time!

In game screenshot - We also didn't get to do a lot of optimization for the demo, but the game still runs quite smoothly at 1080p on most modern PCs.

In game screenshot - aside from the "town center" area, another team member, Mathew Kishan, was responsible for laying out the majority of the Attic environment, and well as game play and player mechanics.

In game screenshot - We plan to continue working on the game after school, and hope to add elements such as combat, enemies, boss battles, and maybe even more environments and levels, with a proper fleshed out story.

Up in Attic - The Game

This is the final project for my Diploma in Advanced 3D Graphics Level 7 Course at Yoobee School of Design. Our small group of three (myself, Mathew Kishan and Lyon Chan) was tasked to come up with our own project, so since we were all into game art and development, we decided to make a "game demo" based off our previous Team Production short film, Up in Attic! Developed in Unreal Engine for PC, it was intended to be a sort of "vertical slice" of what a full "Up in Attic" game might be like. We used assets from the short film to build our world, but most had to be heavily optimized with proper UVs, and their materials re-done in Substance Painter. There were many things we weren't able to implement that we would do if given more time, however given that we accomplished what we did in only 4 1/2 weeks, I think we should be proud!
